Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty in Denver, CO
The nose you were meant to have
When you look in the mirror, is your nose the first thing you see? For those of us unhappy with the shape of our noses, it often is. When your nose works harmoniously with your other features, it blends seamlessly into your face. A rhinoplasty, or “nose job” is a procedure that is performed to change the shape or appearance of the nose.
In patients who do not want to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty, a on-surgical rhinoplasty may be an option. Dermal fillers are used to augment the shape of the nose. Dr. Emily Misch is an expert in both surgical and non-surgical rhinoplasty, and can help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
Who is a non-surgical rhinoplasty candidate?
You are a candidate for a non-surgical rhinoplasty, or nose job, if you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose. A non-surgical rhinoplasty is best suited for patients wanting to camouflage a nasal hump or improve the projection of their nasal tip.
What are the benefits of a non-surgical rhinoplasty?
A non-surgical rhinoplasty, or nose job, will change the appearance of the nose. Dermal filler can be used to reduce the appearance of a nasal hump. Filler may also be used to help the nasal tip appear more projected or rotated.
A non-surgical rhinoplasty can be performed awake in Dr. Misch’s clinic. As the filler will slowly dissolve over time, some patients use non-surgical rhinoplasty to simulate the effects of a surgical rhinoplasty to help them decide if they would like to move forward with the permanent surgical rhinoplasty option.
What is non-surgical rhinoplasty recovery like?
You may have a small amount of bruising and swelling in the nose for a few days. Pain will be minimal after non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty FAQs
-
A liquid rhinoplasty, or non-surgical rhinoplasty, is a procedure that uses hyaluronic acid filler in the nose to camouflage asymmetries without having to undergo surgery.
-
The best candidates for liquid rhinoplasty are patients with dorsal humps who do not want to undergo surgery. Liquid rhinoplasty is most commonly used to camouflage humps. It can also be used to fix small asymmetries of the nose and give the appearance of a more lifted nasal tip. It cannot make the nose smaller, however, so anyone looking for a smaller, more narrow nose should consider a surgical rhinoplasty.
-
A liquid rhinoplasty has many benefits. It is performed in clinic with just a small amount of numbing cream. The results are seen instantly. There is little to no downtime afterwards- you may have a small amount of swelling the next day but this resolves quickly.
-
Over time, your body will start to dissolve the hyaluronic acid filler that was used. We are finding, however, that hyaluronic acid filler lasts much longer than we previously thought. Many patients find they need a touch up around 1 year after the procedure.
-
The procedure takes about 30-45 minutes. Dr. Misch will discuss your concerns with you and then apply a numbing cream for about 20 minutes. The liquid rhinoplasty procedure itself takes about 10 minutes.
-
There is essentially no downtime. Immediately after the procedure, you may see tiny needle pokes in your skin, but these disappear over a couple hours. You may have a little redness and swelling of the nose for 1-2 days, but this is mild and easy camouflageable with makeup.
-
With all Botox or filler appointments, we recommend avoiding alcohol, aspirin, and NSAIDs for 3 days prior to help reduce bruising.
-
Again, avoiding alcohol, aspirin, and NSAIDs after the procedure can help reduce bruising. We also advise against strenuous exercise the day of the procedure. Avoid manipulation of the nose via firmly touching it or wearing glasses for 1 week, as this can move the filler that was placed.
-
Yes, it is a safe procedure. With all procedures, however, there are risks involved. The biggest risk with any filler infection is occlusion of blood vessels. In the nose, this can cause skin necrosis or, very rarely, blindness has been reported. Due to these risks, it is important to go to a surgeon who knows the nasal anatomy incredibly well.
-
No, liquid rhinoplasty will not help with breathing.
-
Cons of liquid rhinoplasty include the fact that it is not a permanent procedure and future touch ups may be required. Additionally, not all patients are good candidates and there are risks to the procedure which makes finding a skilled provider/surgeon very important.
