Forehead Reduction Surgery in Denver, CO
Bring harmony to your face
Have you felt like your forehead was too large or long for your face? Are you using your hair to camouflage the size of your forehead? In patients with overly large or long foreheads, a forehead reduction surgery can bring balance and harmony back to their facial features.
Forehead reduction, or hairline lowering, surgery involves making an incision along the hairline and removing a small amount of the forehead skin. Dr. Misch performs forehead reduction surgery in her Denver, CO facial plastic surgery clinic.
Who is a forehead reduction surgery candidate?
You are a candidate for forehead reduction surgery if the size of your forehead bothers you and out of proportion with the rest of your face.
You should be overall healthy. It is also important to have realistic expectations and a positive attitude to help you navigate your recovery!
What are the benefits of a forehead reduction?
An overly large forehead can make our face look out of balance and draw attention away from the other features of our face. A forehead reduction helps to bring the face back into harmony so that all your features are highlighted.
A forehead reduction can also lead to a smoother appearance of the forehead. For those with receding hairlines, moving the hairline forward can contribute to a more youthful appearance.
What is forehead reduction surgery recovery like?
You may have a headache for the first few days after a forehead reduction. This will gradually improve and we have medication to help the headache. You may have some slight swelling and bruising of the forehead for about 1 week. Stitches will be removed 7-10 days after your surgery. Yes. While a forehead reduction can somewhat soften the wrinkles on the forehead, it does not directly affect the forehead muscles, the frontalis and the corrugators. These muscles will continue to contract and create horizontal forehead and vertical “11” glabellar wrinkles. To improve and prevent these wrinkles, you will still need neuromodulator injections after a forehead reduction.
