Botox in Denver, CO
Goodbye wrinkles!
Repetitive movement of facial muscles, like raising our eyebrows, squinting our eyes, or furrowing our brows can create deep set wrinkles and lines in our face.
Botox is a neuromodulating injectable medication that prevents muscles from contracting. It is typically injected into the forehead, between the eye brows, and around the eyes to reduce and prevent wrinkles.
It can also be injected above the upper lip for a “lip flip,” which helps create a more everted, fuller upper lip. When injected in the lower face it can help reduce “RBF.” Botox can soften or prevent neck muscle (platysma) banding when injected into the neck. It can also be used in a “chemical browlift” when injected just under the eyebrows.
Who is a Botox candidate?
Essentially, nearly anyone who wants to soften or prevent their facial wrinkles is a candidate! Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have another medical contraindication, such as myasthenia gravis are not candidates.
What are the benefits of Botox?
Botox will soften and prevent wrinkles from forming in your face. It is a relatively quick and straight forwarded procedure. The effect of Botox typically takes 3-7 days to take effect and lasts around 3 months.
What is Botox recovery like?
Recovery after Botox is minimal. Any swelling from Botox injections resolves within an hour or so. It is recommended that you do not work out immediately after you receive Botox injections but after 1 day, you can resume full activity. You may have small areas of bruising. These should resolve within a week.

Botox and Dysport are both a form of botulinum toxin A, so they are essentially the same medication. Their dilutions differ, so you will use different units of Botox and Dysport for the same areas. Dysport may have a slightly faster onset. Typically, their effects both last around 3 months.
